Beautiful, Real Wooden Floored Lounge Chique, Contempory & Stylish Kitchen

Palais Excelsior, Flat 9, 8 Avenue Durante is a newly renovated, high-ceilinged, luxury apartment occupying an envious position in the Musicians Quarter in the heart of Nice.

A tranquil luxury apartment

Once part of a hotel, Palais Excelsior has been renovated in style to provide the perfect base for exploring the city and the Cote d’Azur.

The apartment’s balcony overlooks a tranquil and beautifully kept traffic-free cul-de-sac. This and the high-ceilinged interior and elegant styling means an evening in is as pleasant as the alternative. A 42” plasma TV and home entertainment system provides the opportunity for an intimate night away from the Joie de Vivre of Nice’s social scene.

Five minutes walk from Nice’s vibrant attractions

Though the apartment is set in quiet surrounds, 5 minutes walking brings you to the plentiful bars and restaurants of the Rue de France, part of Nice’s lively and traffic-free ‘zone pietonne’ and just a block from the Promenade Des Anglais. From here, 5 minutes along the sea front brings you to the charming lanes of Old Town Nice.

A 5 minute walk in another direction will bring you to the main shopping area. The train station is also 5 minutes away, making the entire Cote d’Azur yours to explore by train.

Nice

Nice is a tangled web of French, Italian and even Spanish history, a city with its own language, Nissart, spoken by a large minority. It’s a unique place that epitomises the French Riviera’s attitude and style, a testament to the attractive Mediterranean café culture.

The Promenade Des Anglais curves along the Bay of Angels (la Baie des Anges) from the heart of Nice, 4 miles along the coast to the Nice-Cote d’Azur Airport. The famous blue chairs (chaises bleues) and cabanas are perfect for lazy contemplation on the beach while waiters serve you with food and drink.

For those who enjoy a more active pursuit of culture there are numerous museums, roman ruins, historical churches and a cathedral to visit, and the charismatic Old Town with its restaurants and shops. There are also many festivals throughout the year, including the Carnaval de Nice and Nice Jazz festival.

The French Riviera

The train station is only 5 minutes walk from your door, and from there the entire French Riviera is yours to explore. Cannes, Antibes, Monte Carlo and Monaco are all within a day-trip, as too is Italy, only 12 or so miles away, should you wish to attend the Friday market. The hills nearby are excellent for walking in the summer, overlooking Nice and the Mediterranean, and in the winter the ski resorts are just a couple of hours drive. Regular ferry crossing to Corsica from the port of Nice take around 5 hours and cost around £50 (summer 2008).
